Brasa St Paul - I went back to Minnesota for the holidays and met up with my friends at one of my favorite places to eat, Brasa Rotisserie on Grand Avenue.

As a student at the University of Minnesota, I often went to Located in Northeast Minneapolis.

So number one is probably the coldest day ever. I wasn't prepared for the Minnesota winter... because I read about how El Nino warmed it up for the season. Well, today it's like -35 degrees Celsius... , brrr.

We decided to share a large plate of beef ($19.95), with black beans and yellow rice. For some reason though they got our order wrong and we got red beans and the rice was good because we were trying to decide between red or black beans and it was delicious.

I really like the yucca fries ($2.95 for a small), so we definitely ordered those. Plus, it comes with Brasa's delicious green sauce. Whatever you do, try ordering it with green sauce!

My friend said the pork was dry when you got it, but it was a takeout order, so maybe it wasn't dry when you got it home.

They have changed their menu a bit since I started eating there, adding bowls and sandwiches. My guess is because of the Minnesotan style of eating?

How to wash in Korea? Thinking back to some of my most pressing questions, when I first moved to Korea, I remember that laundry was one of the things that bothered me the most. Moving and living in Korea! Part 1: Placement/Living in Korea  | Part 2: Get a phone in Korea Part 3: Laundry in Korea  | Part 4: The use of air conditioning in Korean laundry is important!

How to use Korean air conditioner? I saw a post on Facebook the other day asking about remote control air conditioners and realized I had never posted about them! So here it is! How to use Korean air conditioner (Korean air conditioner)

As promised, here is my blog comparing Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair vs La Mer The Concentrate. FTC Disclaimer: I was sent both of these items for free in exchange for my full and honest review. I tried to be as scientific as humanly possible. I had a blind reviewer (my mom) who didn't know I had done the skin care test, so her opinion was completely blind and she tried really hard to give a full and honest review of the differences she noticed. I did this for 2 weeks. In the 14 days leading up to the test, I am testing Estee Lauder ANP products in exchange for my review. I have quite a bit of product left (and actually have a second sample to test). My night skin care is the same as usual. 1) DHC Cleansing Oil - Purchased from YesStyle | Buy from Amazon 2) Micellar Water (for eye makeup) 3) Clay Deti Smooth Rosette Cleansing Paste - Buy from YesStyle   | Buy from Amazon I use PMD Clean (from CAUSEBOX) to wash my face. Chef Alex Roberts plans to open his third Brasa location near 46th and Bryant in South Minneapolis. The South American soul restaurant, known for its slow-grilled meats and comforting sides, now has two more locations. One is a former service station in northeast Minneapolis and the other is on Grand Avenue in St. Louis. The expansion plan comes after threats from a proposed Lunds & Byerly grocery store in Grand that would involve the destruction of St. Paul Brasa, along with other nearby buildings.

The new Brasa will open in the former Studio 2 Cafe location at 818 West 46th Street, near the intersection of 46th and Bryant. The address is home to Java Jack and the original Rustica Bakery. Construction is expected to begin within the next few weeks with a planned summer opening.

In addition to the ambiance and indoor/outdoor dining menu, the new location will allow for more takeout.

Roberts was wary of growing Brasa as a mini-chain despite its success. The first location opened in 2007 in northeast Minneapolis, sourcing its ingredients from Robert's father's farm in Minnesota. Dishes like slow-roasted pork, sausage, rice with beans and green sauce are instant favorites. The Grand Avenue location opened in 2009.

Then, despite the success of both, Roberts decided to stop expanding, despite the success of these, and his famous Alma restaurant.

In April of this year, Lunds & Byerly's purchased the land that included the formerly renovated hardware building and announced plans to build a new grocery story on the site with an underground parking garage and apartment building above. It's a shocking plan for a neighborhood focused on small businesses that already has parking and congestion issues.
