Ammo Squared is an online ammo subscription service that allows you to "set it and forget it" to receive a monthly supply of whatever ammo you want to add to your collection. From rifles to shotguns, pistols and 22s, we have most of the ammunition you are looking for. You decide how much you want to budget per month and what ammo you want to spend your budget on and they create what they call a "box" for you. When your crate reaches a certain value (which you set), it sends you ammo. It's quite simple.

Why would you want to use an ammo subscription service like Ammo Squared? I can think of several reasons that make a lot of sense:
You will save a lot of time running around the city or searching the Internet for the right ammunition. You simply set the desired percentage for each caliber and they do the rest. You can budget for something that works for you so you don't blow money on an impromptu trip to the sporting goods store. Instead, set it up and know that you'll spend $100 a month and get several of any caliber you need. Pretty cool system.
By creating an account and logging in to Ammo Squared, you can view their prices, ammo promotions, and more. The first thing you'll want to do is build a box to get started. To do this, you start by clicking the "New Box" button. Let's go through the process.
Once you're logged in and have an idea of what ammo you want to start adding to your crate, select New Crate in the top left corner. It takes a few steps to make sure you get what you want in your box.

Next, you'll need to choose whether you want to add a rifle, shotgun, or submachine gun to your chest. You just add one to start, but you can go ahead and add as many varieties as you like.

This is where I started asking questions. The way Ammo Squared works is that you choose the type of ammunition to use, not a specific cartridge or charge. So, if you want to stock up on 10mm ammo for practice, you would choose the training option. This allows them to fill the boxes with practice cartridges of the caliber that will be filled, but each box may have different markings (or they may all be the same).
I received all similar cases in 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP in my order, but in 10mm I received full cases from two different brands. To me, this isn't a big deal for training cartridges, but I understand that it can be a problem if you want to get a factory-accurate cartridge for your favorite hunting rifle.

Next, to create your Ammo Squared box, you'll select the budget you want to set. After that, your budget can be as low as $5.00 per month. The great thing is that you can set the amount you want to spend each month.
You will then select how and when you wish to ship your ammo box. This part was a little confusing to me at first, but it's actually pretty simple. You can customize the shipping box based on the following options:
One thing that confused and worried me at first was what would happen if I allocated say 30% of my $100 a month to 40 S&W ammo, but that 30% would give me 71 rounds of 40 S&W. I didn't want a whole box of 50 plus 21 loose ammo rolling around. Don't worry, because AmmoSquared only ships full boxes, so "leftovers" or odd numbers above or below a full box will carry over to the next delivery. You will save these "spare" cartridges until you are ready to ship the entire box.
For example, on my first order, my box was shipped with 8 full boxes (4 different calibers) and each caliber had a few extra rounds that didn't make up a full box, so those rounds stayed in my "box" until I agreed. I have a whole box and it can be sent when I tell them to send it. This is quite understandable.

It should be noted that you get free shipping if you wait until the value of your box is over $250. But even if you don't, their shipping rates are very reasonable compared to others I've used.
When it's time to ship the ammo in your box, look at your box and at the bottom you'll see what you have available to ship (full boxes). You will see a "View Shipping Options" link. Click that and your ammo will be on its way!
One of my first questions, and probably yours too, was what the ammo cost was when using Ammo Squared. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ammo Squared's prices were very competitive in the marketplace, especially if you increase the value of your subscription to $250, your shipping will be free. I've seen crazy shipping charges for ammo, so free shipping cuts the cost of the round down a lot.
Prices are changing now, so you may not see the exact prices I listed above when you read this article, but they are competitive prices, especially with free shipping. Lowest ammo prices? Definitely not, but you don't have to worry about breaking the budget and you can sit back and know that ammo will be at your door soon. It also eliminates impulse buys and money wasted on time/fuel going from store to store to find what you need, which will also keep your costs down. Keep in mind that the cartridges you get won't be remanufactured either, so you'll know you're getting new cartridges from reputable brands.

Another question I had when I first looked at Ammo Squared was how easy it was to stop or pause the service if I wanted to. I didn't want a long term commitment if I wasn't happy with the service.

The concept of an ammo subscription service is rare in the ammo industry and I had not heard of AmmoSquared before. I was a little skeptical at first, but after working through the setup process, your job is done and you just sit back and wait for the ammo to arrive at your doorstep. I found that this saved me money on ammo because I was less likely to buy in bulk because I knew I had an Ammo Squared account set up working for me. Now, I reload ammo for precision rifles, so Ammo Squared doesn't help me here, but it's fantastic for my other ammo.

There was really only one thing I didn't like about AmmoSquared, and that wasn't choosing a specific round or load for my box. For my practice rounds it's not that big of an issue, but when I buy ammo for my hunting rifles I want to know that I'm getting the same load every time I find a load that shoots me well. gun In my opinion, this is a violation of the rules of weapons. To be honest, I now reload all the ammo in the shotgun, but in the past I always bought the same load that shot the shotgun well.
Another thing I'd like to suggest to Ammo Squared is reloading components. I know rebooting isn't even part of it
